On Monday MSB's Joint Managing Directors, Don Porter and Brian Hamill, were delighted to attend the launch of Amazon Web Services' (AWS) new cloud data centres in Bahrain – the first in the Middle East by an American company. The three new data centres will see Bahraini individuals and businesses benefit from cloud applications which perform better and cut data transport costs. They are expected to be operational in 2019. The announcement comes as Bahrain hosts Amazon Web Services' first ever summit in the Middle East, with the event taking place at the Four Seasons Hotel in Manama, the kingdom’s capital city. Khalid Al-Rumaihi, Chief Executive of Bahrain’s Economic Development Board, described the announcement as “a game-changer for the entire region” and a move that will “unleash innovation” in Bahrain. MSB has had the privilege of partnering with organisations in Bahrain and the wider Gulf region for 10 years.
