Almost 2 in 3 (63%) of UK employees would be ready to leave their job for better, more regular training opportunities. The study, led by online college AVADO, claims that the typical employee has not received any training in the last two years, and that 1 in 7 has had no training in more than four years.
41% of employees who responded to the survey report that a lack of regular training reduces their productivity, and 26% are concerned that they will miss out on promotion as a result. Even when employees do receive training, it is not always of the required quality. Only 53% of employees believe the training they receive helps them to stay on top of industry developments and trends. Almost 1 in 4 respondents cannot find sufficient courses to meet their development needs. Asked why they think their employer does not provide more regular training, 37% point to the operational challenges of releasing employees for training while 29% blame cost concerns.
