MSB has partnered with Tamkeen – an organisation charged with developing Bahrain’s private sector – to deliver a transformational event called ‘A Day in the Life of Tamkeen’. Following a period of restructuring and expansion, Tamkeen Chief Executive Dr Ebrahim Janahi asked MSB to deliver an event which would familiarise both new and more experienced staff with Tamkeen’s mission and new structure. MSB’s solution was ‘A Day in the Life of Tamkeen’, an interactive full-day event unlike any other delivered in the region. All Tamkeen employees, from Directors to drivers, from long-serving staff to new recruits, were brought together at the start of the day, which began with a welcome from MSB’s Managing Directors, Don Porter and Brian Hamill. The employees – known as ‘Tamkeeners’ - were then split into small groups, each of which included directors, managers and more junior staff. Over the course of the day, each group visited seven rooms. In each different room the groups experienced a presentation about a different Tamkeen department. The presentations were delivered by ‘ambassadors’ – employees who had been chosen in advance to demonstrate the role their department plays in delivering the organisation’s mission. Each presentation adopted a unique and creative approach - from quizzes and business simulations to videos and games. This 'business theatre' brought to life each department's role and how they interact with other parts of the organisation to deliver an excellent customer experience.
By the end of the day, all Tamkeeners had heard from representatives of every department, from Planning and Business Development to HR and Legal Affairs. In subsequent feedback gathered by the client, almost 95% of participants said that ‘A Day in the Life’ has given them a much clearer understanding of the organisation’s mission and direction.
