One of MSB’s strategic partners, Lancaster University Management School (LUMS), has been named as one of the world’s top business schools in the Financial Times’ Global MBA rankings. LUMS is now ranked number 4 in the UK and 35 in the world for its MBA course, up 15 places since last year. This puts it above UK competitors including Alliance Manchester Business School and Warwick Business School, and on the same ranking as Imperial College London.
Angus Laing, Dean of LUMS, said that the new rankings “confirm our position as a leading global business school”. MBA graduates from LUMS enjoyed the largest pay increases, with the typical graduate enjoying a rise of by 111%. According to the Financial Times, this compares with an average pay increase of 81% for the UK’s top 15 MBA programmes. As a result, the LUMS MBA is ranked the 6th best in the world at providing value for money. The Financial Times also rates MBA courses on their impact on graduates’ career progression. For this, LUMS is ranked 36th in the world, up 13 places since last year. An impressive 94% of MBA graduates are in employment within 3 months of completing the course. For the second year running, the Financial Times has declared LUMS to be the world’s best business school for corporate strategy, finishing ahead of Harvard. Peter Lenney, Director of the full-time MBA at LUMS, said “Our rise in the table is a result of the success of our alumni in their careers, the quality of the program we deliver at Lancaster, and the continuous improvement in all aspects of the school over the years. “We are very grateful to all the alumni who were surveyed for this ranking.
