As we mark MSB’s 30th year in business, we look at some of the milestones in the company’s history. In April 1987 Don Porter and Brian Hamill started MSB Consultancy with the aim of becoming a leading global provider of tailored services in the areas of culture change, customer experience, employee engagement and people development. Pictured above is the original MSB team in 1988, then based in Woking. In 1994, MSB had outgrown its offices in Woking and moved to larger premises in Sunninghill, near Ascot. The new office – Winslow House - was opened by former Cabinet Minister Lord (Cecil) Parkinson. As MSB continued to grow over the next decade, it attracted bright new talent. Pictured above from left to right are some of the people who were part of the team in that period: Joanne Booth-Mason, Geoff Marsh, Shirley Sait, Andrew Shapiro, Andrew Bayley, Andy Booth and Phil Garthside. The MSB team was delighted to welcome Lord Parkinson back to Winslow House to celebrate MSB’s 10th birthday. For the last 10 years, in addition to our UK and US client portfolio, MSB has also partnered with organisations in Bahrain and across the GCC region on projects ranging from performance audits and leadership development programmes to employee engagement research and culture change strategies. MSB is currently working in close partnership with Tamkeen, the organisation responsible for the private sector development which forms such a crucial part of Bahrain's economic vision. In celebration of our 25th anniversary, MSB welcomed friends and clients to a reception at St Stephen’s Club in Westminster. In September 2015, MSB was delighted to host a royal visit when HRH Princess Alexandra came to Winslow House. Her Royal Highness was interested to learn about the work of our specialist healthcare team and met several clients. In September 2015, MSB was delighted to win the CIPD People Management Award as the ‘Best HR / L&D supplier’ for our employee engagement research and customer service training with the London Eye. Our work helped this world-renowned visitor attraction to achieve higher satisfaction ratings, fewer customer complaints and enhanced levels of employee engagement. This year, MSB celebrated our 30th anniversary at the Houses of Parliament, where we were joined by 170 clients and friends from around the world. We were also thrilled to welcome the Prime Minister and several Cabinet Ministers to the reception. In the photo above, Joint Managing Director Don Porter chats to Prime Minister Theresa May and MSB's Advisory Board member Tim May. Joint Managing Director Brian Hamill chats to Health Secretary Jeremy Hunt and Charles Beazley.
Since 1987, MSB has continued to grow and evolve as a business. What began as a two man operation above a bookmaker’s shop in Woking has grown into a successful, international management consultancy that operates in Europe, Russia, the Middle East and North America. Here’s to another 30 successful years!
