The Directors of MSB were delighted to attend Tamkeen’s third annual Customer Consultation Forum as guests of the Chief Executive, Dr Ebrahim Janahi.
Tamkeen, now in its tenth year, is an organisation responsible for developing and diversifying the economy of Bahrain by providing grants to businesses and by funding individuals through professional certification courses.
The Forum gives these Tamkeen customers a chance to get face-to-face with the organisation’s directors and managers and to have their say on how the service can be improved.
In his opening address, the Chief Executive told an audience of several hundred Tamkeen customers about the achievements of the last decade.
So far, Tamkeen has spent 440 million Bahraini dinars (£900 million / US$ 1.15 billion) to support companies, jobseekers, students and entrepreneurs in the Gulf Kingdom. More than 38,000 businesses have secured grants and a remarkable 31% of the Bahraini workforce has received training and development support from Tamkeen – including 17,000 women.
Tamkeen’s mission forms a crucial part of Bahrain’s 2030 Economic Vision - with its principles of sustainability, fairness and competitiveness – which provides a clear vision for the development of Bahrain’s economy, government and society.
Dr Janahi announced new initiatives to help Bahraini businesses to compete globally and locally, including the introduction of a guidance and mentoring for business owners.
A particularly welcome announcement concerned Tamkeen’s plans to offer a ‘business incubator’ service for start-ups, which will include specialised finance packages and support for key equipment.
For jobseekers, Tamkeen will now offer job application and interview training.
MSB Consultancy is privileged to be partnering Tamkeen as the organisation continues to make progress, following a significant restructuring in October 2015, towards a fully customer-centric, high performance culture.
